Debate Events
In Debate events, students will go head-to-head against a debater or team from another school. The resolution, or topic, is provided at least 1 month in advance, so both sides have a chance to prepare.
Competition is divided up into "rounds." For each round, you will debate against a different opponent and switch which side of the resolution you advocate for. Typically, there are 3 or 4 preliminary rounds in each tournament. If you win a majority of your rounds, you can compete in elimination rounds like quarterfinals, where you can win awards!
Below, you'll find a short summary and resources for each of the major debate events.
